Another highly sought after wedding decoration piece is the floral centerpiece. Flowers look fantastic anywhere at a wedding ceremony or reception but if one is looking to find the perfect touch for the center of their tables, a floral centerpiece will definitely do the trick. Wedding Reception
t’s party time and time to toss rules out the window. Every wedding is different. The order of the events below aren’t written in stone and you can change the orders or dismiss of any event you don’t want.
You should plan for your wedding party to start packing up anything that is left behind and that has be removed from the reception venue once the party is over.
- You and your HUSBAND arrive at the reception location with your wedding party.
- Freshen up, grab a drink and get into positions for the receiving line and greet your guests. Your guests will mingle and have drinks and hors d'oeurves during the time it takes to finish the receiving line
- The next thing that happens is the MC introduces the wedding party into the room. Traditional order: bride’s parents, groom’s parents, bridesmaids and groomsmen in couples, the maid of honor and best man, then the flower girl and ring bearer and lastly the newlyweds.
- You could have your first dance now or wait until after the speeches. You'll notice that there are no firm rules here because it's party time. Also, if you are planning on cutting short your photographer's hours, getting the first dance over with now allows the photographer to get a few good shots.
- Before you eat, the best man makes a toast to the happy couple.
- If you have invited your priest/minister have them or someone else say grace before the meal. Grace is optional.
- We find that if you are having more then 4 speeches, it’s more entertaining when they’re given between courses, but that's up to you. If you want to have the speeches said one after the other, that can be done after the meal. You'll find the order of speeches in our Toasts & Speeches section.
- Speeches and dinner are done, now it's time for dancing. If you haven't had your first dance yet, let's go. If you did, then you and your wedding party should start the dancing. You can also cut your cake and have the parent’s dance now too. Try not to stop your DJ too often, it’s hard to get everyone back on the dance floor once it’s been cleared.
- An hour after that cut of the cake. You don’t have to announce this, it can be done anytime during the evening. Just make sure that the views of your photo & video people aren’t blocked. To save money on your photographer, do a fake cutting of the cake earlier and cut down on the amount of time they have to be at the reception.
- At around 11:00pm its time to toss your bouquet and your husband flings your garter. I know you like it when I type HUSBAND, I bet you're smiling right now. This has become an event that only half the couples incorporate it into their day Personally, I like it.
- The sweet table or late-night buffet can start right after the tosses.
- Lastly, change into your going away outfit (if you're doing that), have your last dance, say your goodbyes and leave.

HONEYMOON
The Honeymoon is the traditional holiday taken by newlyweds. It considered as the celebration of marriage involving intimacy, seclusion, romance and tenderness.
The first use of the word honeymoon dates back to the 16th century. The Merriam-Webster dictionary reports the etymology as from “the idea that the first month of marriage is the sweetest” (1546). The term is also said to come from the Norse word “hjunottsmanathr” which means “in hiding”. This came from the ancient Scandinavian practice where the groom would abduct their brides from local villages and keep them in hiding until they were pregnant or until the bride’s family stops searching.

Wedding Flowers
Flowers set the mood and tone for your entire wedding and choosing them has never been easier. That’s because the newest trends in wedding flowers are not about matchmaking - the bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages and centerpieces no longer have to be identical. The latest floral styles are all about color, boldness and individual design.
Floral trends
Wedding flowers often follow fashion trends and right now individuality is in, while conventionality is out. This means that the bridesmaids’ bouquets do not have to match the bride’s and each bridesmaid can potentially have a unique bouquet. Colorful blossoms, as opposed to conventional white, are also in style - especially plums and lavenders. This makes it easy for brides making their own centerpieces because anything goes. Be creative! Create a different floral assortment for each table.Wedding Cakes
Your reception just wouldn’t be the same without a wedding cake. After all, it’s meant as a symbol of fertility and is one of the most commonly found wedding traditions. The Ancient Romans used to bake a cake of barley or wheat and then break it over the bride’s head as a sign of fertility. It also became customary to pile several small cakes to create one large tier. The bride and groom would then try to kiss over the tower of cakes without knocking it over. If they succeeded, it was a sign that their marriage would be long and prosperous.
Today, wedding cakes are more about style and taste then they are symbols of fertility. If you’re a talented baker you can make your own wedding cake - not only will you save money but it will also symbolize all the love and dedication that you will put into your marriage. For those of you who aren’t whizzes in the kitchen there are hundreds of unique wedding cake designs to choose from, such as the recently popular cupcake wedding cake.

Wedding Rings
Your wedding ring is a symbol of your love and commitment, and a major part of your marriage ceremony! While some couples are opting for less traditional symbols of their marriage vows, such as tattoos or other types of jewelry, most brides are still interested in using rings in the ceremony.
A wedding ring is something that you will be wearing every day for the rest of your life, so it’s important to take the time to choose one that will stand the test of time and will be comfortable on your finger. Unlike the engagement ring, which tends to be taken care of solely by the man, most couples will shop for wedding rings together to make sure they’re getting something that both can appreciate. Ladies, remember it’s important to get your groom’s opinion too – you want his wedding ring to be something he’s happy to wear!
A great way to express your commitment is to buy a wedding ring set, where the groom’s and the bride’s rings match. However, there’s no rule to choosing wedding rings, so make sure that you get something that suits your tastes. That could mean finding something unusual or antique, or even designing your own. Celtic rings are another popular style for contemporary weddings.
